  Wine Information:
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 15% Malbec, this is a lively rose with strawberry and raspberry aromas.  The palate is supple with sustained flavors and a fresh, clean finish, making this wine the perfect summer drink!

Among the 46-ha of red grape vines, 30 to 50% are dedicated to the production of Château Laulerie Rosé. Trellised in Guyot cut canopy, the vines are closely planted (5,000 vines/ha) with alternating grassy and ploughed rows for an ideal hydric balance. Traditionally farmed and fertilized with natural fertilizers, the vines yield a maximum of 60 hL/ha.

Every step of the winemaking process is designed to maximise fruit character and freshness.  Press juice makes up 50% of this Rosé; the rest was bled off of tanks of fermenting red wine.  The de-stemmed grapes undewent a night long cold maceration, in order to extract colour and varietal aromas; cabernet varieties in particular offer characteristic structure and fruitiness. After a cold settling, fementation was carried out at low temperatures (15 to 17°C) according to a thoroughly controlled rhythm until the sugar was completely consumed. Maturation on the lees offers balance to the vivid fruit character of this Rosé in the form of a round and silky texture.

This clean and fruity rosé should be served chilled (50 to 54°C). It would complement picnic-style meals (cooked pork meats, summer salads...), barbecues, as well as exotic and spicy dishes.  This lively Rosé is crafted to be enjoyed while young, but it will continue to develop with cellaring over the next 3 years.
