  Wine Information:
The land of grape production primarily is poor, sandy and decomposed granite, which in Galicia is known as "Xabre". The sub zone is called Condado do Tea, and is one of the five recognized sub zones, on the southern side of Miño river.
Tricò owns 5 hectares of Albariño, farmed organically, and does not use irrigation despite the fact that the vineyards are in upland areas and extremely dry.  The winery rents another 5 hectares of old vines from a neighbor and purchases a small amount of fruit from a small, very old vine parcel.
Vinification is very simple.  The quality of the fruit is very high, so there is little manipulation done to the raw material. The grapes are brought to the winery as soon as they are harvested and gently pressed. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel tanks, racked off the lees to preserve freshness in aromatics and texture.  Tricò always spends about a year in bottle to further develop. The wine shows brilliant aromatics and high acidity and extract.
