  Wine Information:
This cuvée comprises 80% of the domaine's production and comes from vines located above the hamlet of Verenay, mostly from the lieu dit Les Viallieres, but also Le Champon, Le Plomb and Verenay. The soil is comprised of decomposed schist, also known as l'Arzel. About a third of the vineyard has vines more than thirty years old, the rest are of vines less than twenty years old. About four percent viognier vines are interspersed among the syrah. The vines are exclusively of the serines variety (the traditional syrah of Ampuis). For the plantings after 1990, the grapes come from their own nurseryand are grafted from their vines in Grandes Places. The yield is relatively low, about 35 hl / ha or about half a bottle per vine. Vinification varies from year to year: 20% is aged in new oak, the rest in second, third and fourth use oak. The élevage generally lasts two years. Bottling is in September, just before the harvest.
