Wine Information:
“We thought we wouldn’t push this vineyard any more, just let it make the wine it
wanted to make and not insist it make a big wine.” It’s loam, sand and alluvial deposits
over a bed of Gneiss; the microclimate is warm and wind-sheltered.
The wine is magnificent; a stunning fragrance, pointed and capacious and powerful;
the best since the great ’02; a gorgeously paradoxical blend of precision, power, breadth
and focus; it’s passionate yet classical; long and solid, yet an aspect of that length seems
to float in a smoky cloud above the palate.
