REVIEW
The 2009 Chianti Classico comes across as quite understated in this vintage. Sweet red cherries, flowers, spices and mint wrap around the palate in this medium-bodied, highly attractive Chianti. The wine finds its sense of proportion in the focused, beautifully articulated finish. The Chianti Classico was vinified in cement and aged in cask. It is a gorgeous wine at its level. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. Le Cinciole is one of my favorite Tuscan wineries that still seems to fly under the radar. Proprietor Luca Orsini farms his eleven hectares of biologically certified vineyards with maniacal care, which explains the superb purity of these wines. Sadly, the estate did not bottle their flagship Camalaione in 2008. - Wine Advocate
