Proprietor André Roméro is often referred to as the “King of Rasteau” for the astonishing levels of success and consistency he has achieved and for the prestige that his wines have brought to the appellation.
Rasteau is located on the slopes of the hills adjacent to the Dentelles de Montmirail. Grapes have been cultivated there for the purpose of making wine since the eleventh century. The Roméro family has owned the domaine for close to two hundred years and they now tend 28ha of vines, the majority of which are located on premium hillside sites in limestone and clay-rich soils. |
