Mazzini   ,

The small wine region of Montecarlo, located along the Tuscan coast, is known primarily for its luscious, thirst-quenching white wines which are consumed with abandon at the various Tuscan beach resorts. This unique estate utilizes 70% French varietals in its blend, including Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Roussanne and Semillon to create a fresh yet deep blend with textured citrus fruit and refreshing acidity. The property also makes a small quantity of red, blending Sangiovese with Malvasia and Syrah to produce a smooth and polished yet spicy wine.

Owner: Leopoldo Franceschi

History: The history of the Mazzini estate ( owned by the Franceschi family ) is directly linked to the Montecarlo appellation, in fact the Marchi-Magnani, previous owners of the property, in 1800 introduced the French varietals that are utilized in the blend of Montecarlo Bianco, so that the first wines produced were called "Chablis" of Montecarlo.
