Jean Garaudet   ,

“The best kept secret of Pommard… (Garaudet’s) elegant wines, saturated with lavish amounts of ripe fruit and harmonious, mouthfilling, satisfying flavors, offer formidable evidence of the positive effects of low yields and old-vines”, writes Pierre-Antoine Rovani of The Wine Advocate.

From his very small holdings, Jean Garaudet produces some of the greatest values in the Cote de Beaune. Both in the vineyards and in the cellar, Jean does nearly everything himself--including pigeage by foot!--and keeps yields very low on his 50+ year old vines. He raises his wines in a very low percentage of new oak, and bottles them without fining or filtration. Jean's wines are soulful, beautifully rustic, and very age-able. Unfortunately, 2006 will be his last vintage, as he has retired, and his children have chosen other career paths.
