For the second year in a row, the winning Terry Theise & Pinot Noir double-header was a runaway hit! NYC's Tribeca Grill was the scene on Tuesday, January 13th, where hundreds of Skurnik customers came to witness and take part in this incredible vinous presentation. Pinot Fest, a celebration of Pinot Noir from both the Old World (France) and the New World (California and Oregon), shined an exciting spotlight on this beloved varietal. Winemakers traveled from far and wide to pour their wines and explain in person how terroir, philosophies, and winemaking make their respective Pinot Noirs distinct. Skurnik tasting attendees were happy students and tasters!
Meanwhile, the stunning portfolio of Terry Theise Estate Selections also transformed Tribeca Grill into a virtual emporium of the best wines of Austria, Germany, and Champagne, with its Spring 2004 DI Tasting. Whether it was discovering the racy silky champagnes of grower Chartogne-Taillet, or marveling at the complex, earth-driven wines of the biodynamic estate Nikolaihof, or paying a visit to old friend and master winemaker Johannes Selbach and his treasure trove of Rieslings, every table was a star. This was the last chance to take advantage of the 2002 vintage, an amazing year in both Germany and Austria. Terry Theise, the man himself, was on hand to meet and greet, talk about wine and of course tell a corny joke or two!
