Olé Imports was founded in 1999 by Patrick Mata and Alberto Orte. The portfolio began with only three wines, but has since grown to encompass a comprehensive range of selections from many different regions and at many different price points. We have been searching for quite some time for a portfolio of wines that would complement the selections we currently bring in through Europvin and our direct relationships. Olé Imports is that portfolio.

The 2011 vintage in Burgundy is one of pleasure and grace, not of power. They are charming and approachably fresh – eminently enjoyable right now, while still capable of aging. Alcohol levels are lower for both whites and reds than the riper, later picked 2010 vintage, allowing for notable site transparency and immediate drinkability. As Clive Coates puts it, “The reds, lighter than the 2010s and less exotically rich than the 2009s, are delicious.”
