A good company attracts talented people; a great one can help launch their careers.
Skurnik Wines & Spirits, an importer and distributor, has proved an effective launchpad for some of the most talented salespeople in the New York area, many of whom went on to found companies of their own.
A few Skurnik alumni with their own wine companies include David Bowler (David Bowler Wine) Doug Polaner (Polaner Selections) and Eric Clemons (Coeur Wine Co.).
Skurnik Wines & Spirits isn’t just an incubator of sales talent but a source of some of the greatest wines in the world. Skurnik selections include those from top California estates such as Bryant Family Vineyards, Peter Michael Winery and Corison Estates, as well as sought-after producers from Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain and France—not to mention New Zealand, Australia and Chile—and beyond.
Skurnik Wines & Spirits is now expanding its selection of Greek wines, according to Harmon Skurnik, who is president of the company, and is the younger brother of Chief Executive Michael Skurnik, who founded the company in 1987. Harmon Skurnik joined two years later.
