| Brunello is Back!!

Though many estates produced little or no Brunello in 2002 due to the challenging growing season, we here at MSW saw a boom in Montalcino sales in 2007. We sold every last drop we could get of 2001 normales and riservas, and 2005 Rosso di Montalcino was also an unprecedented success—we just couldn’t get enough wine from Montalcino!
What’s more, the dearth of Brunello in 2007 has primed the market for 2008, and we are excited to provide you with the very best in Brunello & Rosso di Montalcino! Ours are handmade wines, crafted by small family-run estates: wines made in the vineyard and not in a factory. We have one of the most well-rounded collections of Montalcino producers available today, from Spectator “Top Ten” producers such as Ciacci Piccolomini and Siro Pacenti, to traditional, historic producers like Pertimali and Mocali, to tiny, boutique, family-owned estates like Le Potazzine and La Colombina.

| Terry Theise 2008 DI Offer!! |
TT on the 2006 Austrian Vintage: "It’s a vintage of muscle and density, often magnificent, occasionally overdone, usually superb. And as meaty as most of them are, they are only rarely chewy; they are rather like a gigantic lamb shank whose meat is so tender you can coax it off the bone by mere desire alone. It’s undoubtedly the best vintage since 1997."
TT on the 2006 German Vintage: " In general terms, where 2005 was a panna-cotta, ‘06 is meatier. It has higher acidity and much higher extract across the board. At its best—and its best isn’t hard to find—2006 has amazing size and focus. “Grandiose” is a word we’ll often hear. The best wines are regal and commanding, sometimes absurdly focused and defined given their sheer magnitude. And yet other times they seem almost delicate."
